Ky-Mani Marley was born in Falmouth Jamaica on 26th February 1976, is among the most famous and rich Reggae artists. He appeared in Shottas the cult movie featuring Wyclef. Ky-Mani signed to Shang Records where he recorded his debut album in 1996 With Father Like Son and several singles: Judge Not with Patra followed by Dear Dad" (which topped the British reggae charts) Who The Cap Fit (remix) and Sensimelia All of these contributed to his increasing popularity among the new wave of reggae singers. Ky-Mani as well as Praswell who are members of the Fugees joined together in 1997 and recorded Avenue which was a cover of Eddy Grant's Electric Avenue. Marley appeared at the Midem show (an international showcase of music) and was first held in Miami. Marley's performance on stage at Cameo Theatre was broadcast live across 36 countries via Caribbean News Agency. Marley was at the center of auction warfare. He was signed to Gee Street/V2 Records in 1997. He then completed a collaboration with label mate P.M. Dawn who was the lead singer on Gotta be Movin on up.
