Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson comes from a family with a strong musical background. Her early years were spent listening to traditional music, old boleros and traditional romantic and ranchero ballads. Ana loves the operas and tangos as well as any dramatic performance. At the age 16, she started singing and studying music with her mother. Flavio, a Mexican tenor of great renown began to give her more intense singing instruction. In Guadalajara, she attended the School of Music of University of Guadalajara before moving on to Toluca at The School of Sacred Music. The beginning of her professional career saw her perform with many opera choruses, chamber groups in Guadalajara. In 2000, she relocated into in the United States and sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. Later, in 2007 she moved to her home in southern California. She sings in Ensemble XXI Redlands, and performs Latin American traditional music solo in a variety of private occasions. The passion and love she has in music, art and performing has her involved with a variety of local initiatives as a teacher and performer. Ana is also a previous participant in the Community Chorus of Redlands, the Inland Master Chorale, and the Performance Loft. Ana is hoping that, by sharing her knowledge of Latin American traditional songs, that she will bring about a desire, specifically among the younger generation to keep this tradition alive.
